I am just going to skip over the fact that it has been 6 months since the last post. So insert apology here……and we will move on to something else.
How about Winter?
I read quite a few blogs that celebrate the winter solstice and it is something I would love to look at, study and see what it is about. Quite honestly, other than the date, I have no idea what it is about and wished I knew more. The small bits and pieces that I can see seem to show that it is a celebration of the cycle of light and darkness. In all honesty, I don’t mind the darkness in the winter time. It makes things feel closer and softer, makes the candles at dinner and around the house seem brighter. It wraps up our house in a cozy warm blanket that says take it easy, slow down and just sit. Work on a knitting project, listen to some music, have a cup of tea….or a pot and enjoy being inside warm and together.
I love winter, I love spring, I love summer and I love fall. Living someplace where each season can be celebrated and seen so easily is wonderful and winter, even with its icy, dangerous and cold feelings, is still something I enjoy.
